The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) sets the rules for hunting seasons based on science, people’s opinions, and the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) approval. Hunting seasons change depending on the animal, the place, the way, and the license. Some of the most hunted animals in West Virginia are deer, bear, turkey, and small game.
